Hi Melissa,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited to hear that you chose the
Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. This is my family's favorite dining plan!
Children who are between 3 and 9-years old using either of the Disney Dining Plans must order from the children's menu when one is available. When we have used the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, however, we have discovered a little flexibility with appetizers and desserts at some restaurants. Given the portion sizes, the children's options have been the best for our girls. Quite honestly, it is a lot of food. We often take our leftover food back to the room, but there is no way we can eat it all. I also realized when the girls were younger that I did not want them only eating chicken nuggets while on vacation, so I checked the kids menu options at different restaurants prior to making dining reservations. One of our favorite restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios is 50's Prime Time Café. Our girls have enjoyed the grilled salmon on the kids
menu. When you arrive at each restaurant, the cast member who serves you will explain the dining plan options.
Melissa, I do hope you plan to do a few signature-dining experiences. With the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, we always dine at California Grill during the Happily Ever After fireworks at Magic Kingdom. We make our reservation about 30 minutes prior to the show then arrive about 30 minutes prior to the reservation time and request a window table. Although the window table cannot be guaranteed, the view from the restaurant is spectacular!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
