Hi, my family and I are planning to stay at the animal kingdom resort. Can u provide us with a little insight of what a stay there would be like? My children are 2 and 7. In addition, how are the pools and activities for children at this location?

    Hi Philip!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge resort is fabulous!  It is a favorite of many guests, especially young children who love being able to see animals right out side the hotel!  It has one of the best pools on property and the main pool has a zero entry or beach entry which is perfect for young children.

There are also a lot of activities for guests there and you'll want to include some "resort only" days to take advantage of them.  You can try your hand at night-vision animal watching using complimentary night vision goggles.  This is a huge hit with children.  You can also do rubbings of some of the authentic carved bronze artwork around the resort. At night, you can sit around a bonfire to hear African tales told by African story-tellers.  Be sure to take a look at the list of activities; you should get the sheet when you check-in at the resort.

Also, be sure to make a reservation for Boma and maybe Jiko.  Both are wonderful restaurants and my family makes it a point to try and eat a meal at Boma on every trip.  Jiko is a romantic atmosphere and while children are welcome there, the meals are not rushed and can take some time.

I think you made an excellent choice for lodging.  I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
