My family is planning on making another trip to Disney in Jan 2020 so that I can participate in the run Disney Half marathon. My wife is Ex-military and can buy tickets on post. But the only IDs that she has is her DD 214 and a disability letter.

Hello, Robert! Thank you so much for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

In order to purchase 4- or 5-Day Military Promotional Tickets, you will need to provide a valid military photo ID. The ID-holder will need to purchase the tickets and will also need to show their valid military ID to activate the tickets once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. The current Military Promotional tickets expire on December 19, 2019, though, so you'll need to wait until the end of the year to find out about the military offers for 2020.

If your wife is not eligible for the Military Promotional tickets, you may still stay at Shades of Green (an Armed Forces Recreation Center located on Walt Disney World Resort) during January and September (subject to availability) as a part of its Salute to Our Veterans program. To book reservations using this offer, you only need proof of Honorable Discharge and a current DD-214 form. Since the Walt Disney World Resort Marathon Weekend is in January, you may still be able to stay at Shades of Green during that weekend. This is my family's home away from home when we visit Walt Disney World Resort, and we absolutely love it. It also provides transportation to and from the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo as well as to and from each of the runDisney races.

I hope you and your wife are able to take advantage of this special offer! Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your 2020 runDisney race weekend.
