My family is planning to go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. There will be about 20 of us and I was wondering if there is a plan for special thanksgiving meals. Also, what is the best place/way to make reservations for that many people?

Happiest Greetings on Earth, Leslie! Thank you for making your way to planDisney with this wonderful question and I hope to get you some useful information as you prepare for your next visit to Disneyland Resort.

Spending a Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones at Disneyland Resort has to be a dream come true! I can't think of a more lovely way to express gratitude and make special memories with the important people in your life. I have a few recommendations for you if you're searching for a table-service dining experience. First, I'll recommend that you make your dining reservations as early as possible, right when that 60-day booking window opens as I suspect that Thanksgiving dinner will be a popular experience for many Guests. In the past, there have been seasonal offerings with a more traditional Thanksgiving menu at Storyteller's Cafe and Napa Rose. In my experience, Carthay Circle also features fresh and seasonal menus, and I would expect them to have some dishes that are inspired by holiday flavors around that time of the year.

When it comes to making your dining reservations, you are right that it might be difficult to accommodate 20 Guests in the traditional reservation system as one party. Instead, you could get a few of your family members together to search for dining reservations at the same restaurant for the same date and time (say, 4 parties of 5 Guests). You will have to have separate accounts make the dining reservations as the system does not allow one Guest to hold conflicting reservations. Then, my recommendation is to visit the dining location early that day during the operating hours and speak to a Cast Member to kindly request that your tables be seated together or very near one another. While there is no guarantee, I have always found that the Cast Members are very happy to help accommodate these special requests to the extent that they can.

If you're hoping for a more relaxed environment, you could try a quick-service dining option which would allow you to place your order for all your 20 Guests in your party without a reservation in advance. You can order at the counter or within the official Disneyland mobile app. Personally, I love the holiday turkey sandwich that is often featured at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe during the holiday season, and I really hope it makes a return this year!

Finally, Leslie, I recommend that you keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for news and announcements about holiday offerings at the Disneyland Resort. We typically start to see a preview of the seasonal celebrations in late October or early November, including a Disney Eats: Foodie Guide that might be useful to you. This one is from the 2023 holidays, but I hope it serves as inspiration for your upcoming trip! If we can help with anything else in the meantime, please feel welcome to come back and see us here at planDisney!

    Magically yours,
