Hi! My family & I are planning to go to Disney World for New Years. What can I expect? Are there any specific events like fireworks or stage shows? What park is recommended? We are a family of 6 between the ages of 18-50.

    Hi, Abigail!
Thanks for reaching out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel about your New Years Eve plans!

I had a chance to experience New Year's Eve at Magic Kingdom Park and I can give you some of my best tips for a great experience.

First, get to Magic Kingdom Park early. Yes, this means you could have a very long day ahead. Take time to enjoy special snacks. Try to schedule at least one table service meal to really get away from the crowds for a bit. Join in on the dance party in Frontierland. Skip the long lines for rides later in the day and play Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom. Or snag a spot in Main Street U.S.A. early and switch out family members to stand over the space while others shop. At some point in the evening, Main Street is closed to additional Guests because it gets so crowded. If you don't need to see the New Year's Eve fireworks from that angle, I wouldn't recommend staying in that area. It's an intense crowd.

My family decided to hang out mainly in Tomorrowland and Frontierland to enjoy dance parties and smaller crowds. We snagged late FastPass+ reservations to keep the night going because we were committed to seeing the fireworks.

I will tell you this: The fireworks are WORTH IT! I have never and imagine I will never again experience a fireworks show like the one Walt Disney World Resort gives at Magic Kingdom to welcome in a new year. It's all-encompassing.

I know you will ring in the new year in the most magical way. Have fun!
