Hi, my family and I are planning to go to disney and we want to know when it is the best time to go the park. Like months with less people and rates are cheaper.

    Hi Natasha,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your great question. When determining the best time to travel, you'll want to factor crowd levels, weather, and of course, rates. You'll generally find the lowest rates between January and mid February, mid July through September, and just before Thanksgiving through the second week of December.

My favorite times of year to travel to Walt Disney World are May, September and October. The Fall season not only offers some of the lowest rates of the year, but will offer special events like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Epcot's Food & Wine Festival. I'm also partial to May due to lower crowds, beautiful weather and Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival. The general rule to avoiding heavy crowds is to travel while children are in school and not during a holiday weekend. If your plans offer flexibility, you will certainly reap the benefits of traveling during "off-peak" times.

I'd suggest building itineraries on the disneyworld.com site to determine what might work best for you. Also be sure to keep an eye on the Special Offers page for additional savings.

Send us any other questions coming to mind, Natasha, and thanks again for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
