Our family is planning our first Disney vacation and so many questions! We have to book the week of Easter unfortunately, which i know is very crowded. How far in advance do we need to book? Considering Port Orleans or Carribean Beach

    Hi Jennifer!

This is a great question.  With regards to the hotel itself, you can probably wait until your are pretty close to your trip.  However, there is a reason to make it earlier and that is to help you with making Table Service (full service) restaurant reservations.

With regards to Table Service restaurants, I suggest making the reservations as soon as you can, but no sooner than 180 days in advance.  That is because Easter is a very popular time to visit Walt Disney World and without a reservation, it will be hard to impossible to get into any popular Table Service restaurants.  Advance Dining Reservations can be tied to your hotel resort reservation number or just to a telephone number.  An advantage of having a hotel reservation at 180 days out is that when you are eligible to make your first Advance Dining Reservation, you can make them for that first day of your trip plus the next 10 days.  Making them for the next 10 days of your trip is a perk of being a Disney resort guest and gives you an advantage over those guests staying off property.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
