Hi Karen!
I LOVE Disney World in October! The weather is fabulous, the crowds are manageable and great deals can often be found. You will find that the parks have something to offer everyone - from your two year old, all the way up to your 79 years young guest. For some great tips on
traveling with a larger group, have fun checking out the official Walt Disney World website.
Unfortunately, the Electronic Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) cannot be taken from one park to another. If you decide to park hop, simply show your receipt at the new park and a new ECV will be issued. There are several other drawbacks to renting them at the parks. First, they are rented on a first come, first serve basis. If you decide to switch parks in the afternoon, the second park may have already rented them all out - sadly, you are not guaranteed a scooter once you leave it behind. Also, you will not have access to it at your resort, which may be a huge deal breaker. Most resorts are quite large and just getting to and from the buses can be quite a hike!
If I may offer another solution, please consider renting an ECV from an outside source. There are tons of great companies out there, such as
Buena Vista Scooter Rentals. Most of these companies will pick up and deliver your ECV directly to your resort and the prices are sometimes even better than Disney! I know that my mother in law was very pleased with their service and LOVED having her scooter with her at all times.
Enjoy every second with your family and have a magical vacation!
Much pixie dust,
Jackie S.
