Hi Tanya,
Thanks for visiting planDisney! I’m so excited that you’ll be celebrating such an important birthday in the parks. I’m sure your visit will be absolutely magical!
When planning your vacation, it’s helpful to know in advance which attractions may be closed, so you can plan accordingly and avoid any surprises. I’m happy to share some tips on where to find this information.
I recommend checking the
Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website. Once there, switch to Day View and scroll down to the “Closed for Refurbishment” section to see which attractions may be unavailable during your visit. You can typically view the calendar up to 40 days in advance, so the schedule for November 13 is already available. Here’s what is currently scheduled for refurbishment on that date:
Disney California Adventure Park:* Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
Disneyland Park:* Casey Jr. Circus Train
* "it’s a small world"
* Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
* Storybook Land Canal Boats
When you arrive at the parks, I also recommend checking the
Disneyland app for any last-minute updates. To do this, tap the three bars in the bottom-right corner of the app, scroll to “Park Hours & Info” under the My Visit heading, and then select your travel dates. You’ll see a list of attractions that are closed for refurbishment. Keep in mind, refurbishment schedules are always subject to change, so it’s a good idea to double-check on the day of your visit.
Since you’ll be celebrating a birthday in the parks, don’t forget to stop by City Hall to pick up a complimentary Happy Birthday button! You can also visit Fantasyland, where
Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices will be happy to sprinkle you with a little pixie dust—a magical touch for a birthday celebration!
I hope this helps with your planning, Tanya! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true.
Have a magical birthday!
