Hi Mary,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. We love to travel to Walt Disney World with extended family so we can share the magic with even more of our loved ones! The good news is that Disney is made for family magic, and there are plenty of
accommodation options for larger groups.
One option is to book a two-bedroom Deluxe Villa Resort room. Two-bedroom villa accommodations are lovely because they feature a kitchen, laundry facility, and comfortable living space where the family can share meals, relax, and hang out together. We’ve stayed in two-bedroom villas at
Disney’s Old Key West Resort and
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, both times with six adults and three children, and they were both perfect for us! Select resorts also feature three-bedroom Grand Villas, which would give you the option of a third bedroom if that’s a must for you. Another fun option is the Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which accommodates up to nine guests in a treehouse setting.
Our family recently traveled with the grandparents, and we stayed in separate rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. When making your reservation, you can request connecting rooms, which have an internal door connecting resort rooms, or adjoining rooms, which are next to each other. Disney cannot guarantee that they can assign you connecting or adjoining rooms, but it did work out for us and was fabulous. Make sure you call Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-5277 to have this request added to your reservation.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
