Hi Jamie,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacations!
My family and I visit Walt Disney World during spring break often. This is when our daughter has a break from school, so it makes sense for us to go then. The weather at Walt Disney World is great during spring break. It is warm, but not too hot! You are correct in that spring break can be a busy time of year at Walt Disney World. For the reasons I listed above - children out of school and good weather - many guests choose to visit Walt Disney World at this time of year.
The good news is that spring break is not at the same time for everyone. Crowds tend to be the biggest around Easter, which is April 16th this year. Also, for all of the years that I have visited during spring break, I have never experienced a closure of a Disney theme park due to crowds. There will be lots of people; however, I would not expect to see a Disney theme park to close due to capacity at this time of year.
Your plan to head to the theme parks early, even before they open, is a great one. I think that you will be surprised to see how much you are able to get done early in the morning. In the first few hours that a Disney theme park is open, even at a very busy time of year, there are many fewer guests than later in the day. You will be able to experience many attractions during these morning hours.
Have you considered checking out the
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival? This beautiful event occurs at Epcot throughout the spring, and includes amazing topiaries, delicious food kiosks, and a fun musical series, Garden Rocks. It is definitely worth exploring!
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Jamie. Please do let us know if you have any further questions!
