Hi! My family and I are planning our Disney Cruise. We would like to stay at a Disney resort before our cruise, is a admission ticket to the parks required to stay at a resort? If so, does our cruise admission count?

Hello, Chassidy and let me offer you a hearty welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited to have you here chatting about a Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line vacation. My family and I were just having a conversation about a very similar trip where we are planning to combine a 4-night cruise to the Bahamas with a stay at Walt Disney World!

Chassidy, I'm happy to report that park admission is NOT a requirement to enjoy a Disney Resort Hotel stay. In fact, many guests (including yours truly) have visited without ever setting foot in the parks! My family and I love relaxing by the pool, enjoying the restaurants and participating in resort activities.

Now that we have that settled, it is important to note that you'll want to make sure you think about transportation from your Disney Resort Hotel to the cruise port. It's approximately an hour and a half drive in between these two destinations. You are able to book transportation (for a per person fee) through Disney Cruise Line. Take a look at THIS PAGE for more information.

Chassidy, I hope this helps as you're planning ahead for a pixie-dusted trip. If you need recommendations for a Disney Resort hotel or have any additional cruise questions, I hope you'll come on back to planDisney. Just think of us as your personal Fairy Godmother, ready to help you make your vacation planning wishes come true.
