How, and welcome to planDisney! There is nothing that we love more than helping guests plan their vacations, and I’m so excited to help you plan your day at the Magic Kingdom. So let's buckle up because I’m putting my planning hat on and we’re going to set you up for the most magical day possible.
Alrighty, so if I only had one day at the Magic Kingdom with a large party and toddlers, here is what I would do. The first step I would take is to download the
My Disney Experience app. This will be your hub for navigating your day and making the most of the available rides and attractions. Next, I highly recommend purchasing the
Lightning Lane Multi-Pass. This will allow your party to pre-schedule some of the best and most popular rides while leaving time for parades and any shows you want to see. For rides like Tron Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, you will purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Ok, if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or other Select Hotels, you will get the benefit of entering the parks 30 minutes early at 8:30 AM. This would slightly change our strategy, as only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open. For now, let's assume you would enter the parks at opening, 9 AM. As you enter the Magic Kingdom and walk down Main Street USA, now would be a great time to stop and take a quick picture in front of Cinderella's Castle before it gets a little crowded. From here, head left to Adventureland and hop on The Jungle Cruise, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean. If your toddlers meet the height requirements, they will really enjoy The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. Oh, and it’s never too early to stop by Aloha Isle and grab a Dole Whip on your way over to Frontierland. We love Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but please note you might get wet, so if you would rather wait until later in the day to ride it, I completely understand.
By now, you can head over to Liberty Square to ride The Haunted Mansion using your Lightning Lane Pass. Ok, now I know you’re probably thinking that your toddlers haven’t had the opportunity to do much, well, Fantasyland is going to be all about them. You have your Lightning Lane for Peter Pan’s Flight, so you are good to go. The whole family can enjoy rides like It’s A Small World, Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The Barnstormer, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and a personal favorite, Mickey’s Philharmagic. By now, I’m sure you're all hungry, so there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, and many of them offer mobile ordering for convenience.
Oh and don’t forget about your Lightening Land Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Once yall are all fueled back up it’s time to head to Tomorrowland. Here you can enjoy Tomorrowland Speedway, Tron Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, Astro Orbiter and two of my absolute favorites Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
Ok we’re almost done. There are typically 3 parades throughout the day, so check your My Disney Experience app for times because you are going to love them all. Finally, we’re going to finish the day with the fireworks show, Happily Ever After. It’s the perfect way to end a magical day.
I hope that I’ve been able to provide you with enough information to have an amazing day at the Magic Kingdom. Please stop back by if there are any more questions I can help you with.
See ya real soon,
Robert
