Ryan from Colorado Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My family and I were planning on coming to Disney World for 5 days (11/24-11/28) but have had to cancel due to CoVID. I know I can change the dates with a fee if they cost more. But, do i have to change the dates prior to our first day of travel?

    Howdy Ryan!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thank you for sharing your question with us!

The Walt Disney World Resort has implemented an awesome policy for anyone needing to cancel their Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  The “Book With Confidence” allows guests to cancel their reservation up until the day of check-in without a penalty.  This policy applies to Walt Disney World Resort vacations through April 30, 2021!  Since your vacation is in a couple of days, you still have time to cancel without any penalty.  With this policy, you can cancel or modify your vacation for a different date.  If the dates you choose are priced at a higher rate, you would be responsible for the pricing difference.  If you chose a date before April 30, 2021, and later see that you will need to modify that date then, Hakuna Matata, No Worries!  The “Book With Confidence” policy is a fantastic benefit to help guests book their vacation with confidence, knowing that the Walt Disney World Resort is ready to help guests enjoy an unforgettable vacation at a time that works best for them!

The Walt Disney World Resort is doing an amazing job keeping guests safe during these uncertain times!  They have implemented social distancing throughout the parks and are using many different methods to limit person-to-person contact.  I recommend reading through the “Know Before You Go” information regarding the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and the “Restaurants that have Reopened” sites.  I have placed links in the highlighted area above so you can scan through this information at your leisure!

There are many exciting things to do and see in the months to come at the Walt Disney World Resort!  Since the Walt Disney World Resort opened its doors to guests in 1971, next year will mark 50 years of “Making Dreams Come True!”  I cannot wait to experience all the festivities as Mickey, and the gang celebrates the Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary!  I know you will want to experience this special mark in history also!
