Hi. We are a family of 4. I was planning to buy magic bands for my husband and I, but not our 2 children as they are quite young. If they don’t have them how will they access lightening lanes for genie plus and get into the parks please?

Hello Kate, and thanks for stopping by planDisney with such a great question!

As the current UK planDisney Panelist, it really does make me very happy indeed to welcome you here to our pixie spot today.  And, I'm so thrilled to hEAR that your dEAR little family of 4 is in the midst of planning what's sure to be a jolly holiday to the magic of Walt Disney World Resort in August 2022.

I love my MagicBands!  So, I really do think that it's a smart move to consider purchasing MagicBands for both your husband and yourself for your 2022 summer holiday to the most magical place on earth.  Kate, I'm happy to share that your little Mouseketeers will be able to have Admission Cards or Key to the World cards as they're sometimes called in place of MagicBands.  These Admission Cards are complimentary and are freely available from the Front Desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

Once linked to your My Disney Experience account, these magical Admission Cards will contain all the elements of a MagicBand such as any linked Disney Magic Tickets which enable you to purchase Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes if you so wish.

Kate, I also thought it might be useful for you to know that Guests with eligible smart devices such as select Apple iPhones and watches can utilise the Disney MagicMobile service which works very similarly to MagicBands or Admission Cards.

When using Disney MagicMobile features, Guests are able to create a digital pass to link and access their holiday entitlements, and many of these features are available to use by simply holding your smart device near-to an access point, just as you would a MagicBand.  Disney MagicMobile really does work, as if by Mickey magic!

I really hope that I've been able to provide a little valuable insight for you today Kate.  If you should have any further questions concerning your Disney holiday next August, then please do pop back any time to planDisney.  I'm always happy to help wherever possible.

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
