Hi there! My family is planning a big Disney trip in August 2016 to celebrate my husband's completion of graduate school. I wanted to surprise him with a dinner or fun family activity. Our girls will be 6, 3, 3, and 1 1/2. Any fun family ideas?

    Elizabeth-

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congrats to your family on your husband’s graduation next year. Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to celebrate. Here are some ideas that would really stand out and they all relate to fireworks because these shows are musical, emotional and down right fantastic!

The California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort gives you a taste of the best table service food (in my opinion) in all the Kingdom. This is a top tier restaurant with a divine menu. We celebrated my 40th birthday there last September and everyone loved it. The best part is the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Magic Kingdom Park allowing you to dine and delight in the fireworks from your table. Early diners may keep their receipt and return to the terrace outside of the restaurant later in the evening to see and hear the show.

There are dessert and fireworks shows around the Walt Disney World Resort. Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party provides a great view of Cinderella Castle and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from the Tomorrowland Terrace. Similarly, Epcot’s IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party gives a clear view of the show with sweet treats from around the world. Cinnamon sugar churros with caramel and chocolate sauces from Mexico … I say, “Yes please!”

Specialty cruises are a huge hit for celebrations. These small voyages drop anchorage for a unique view of the fireworks with a celebration cake or dessert platter. Being out on the Seven Seas Lagoon with all his princesses will be unforgettable.

Congrats again and enjoy making many Magical Memories!
