The family is planing a huge Disney trip in May 2012, My son will have just turned 6 when we arive and after watching some videos of space mountain he is determined to ride it. I am worried that he will freak out, or is 6 an ok age to ride.

Hello, Angela! Welcome to the Moms Panel! Oh, we Moms here on the Moms Panel cannot give you a firm "yes" or "no". This decision is always left up to the parents to make the call. As long as your child meets the height requirement of 44 inches (112 cm), he is able to enjoy the ride should you decide. I have three boys and I can tell you that 2 out of my 3 were able to enjoy Space Mountain at a much earlier age than my middle child. I just knew he was not ready for such an experience. Again, we advise you to sit down with your child and discuss this attraction in greater detail. I am sure you will get your answer. Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel. Please join us again real soon should any new questions or concerns pop-up. We are always ready to help our guests plan the vacation of a lifetime. May your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation be filled with many new and MAGICAL memories! ~Have a MAGICAL day and "SEE YOU REAL SOON"!~
