Hello. My family and I plan to take a vacation to Disneyland a week before Thanksgiving. I was wondering if the park will be decorated for Christmas by this time or if some Halloween decor will still be up? Thank you.

Greetings, Rachel, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

There’s nothing more magical than spending the holidays at the Disneyland Resort! You and your family are going to make so many special memories. I checked the Disney Parks Blog, and found a recent post stating that the Halloween season will run from September 6 through October 31, 2019. So, Halloween decorations should be gone by the time you arrive in mid-November. Though we don’t have exact dates for the holiday season yet, I dug up some dates from the past few years. Last year, the holiday season ran from November 9, 2018, through January 6, 2019. Previously, the holiday season was celebrated November 10, 2017, through January 7, 2018. So, based off these date ranges, I think it should be safe to estimate that the holiday season should be well underway by your visit on November 19! However, I'd recommend keeping your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for the official dates. Last year, the holiday season dates were announced on the blog toward the end of July.

My family’s favorite way to celebrate the holidays at the Happiest Place on Earth is watching A Christmas Fantasy Parade. There’s no better way for us to kick off the season! One of our favorite spots to watch the parade is along Main Street, U.S.A., or near “it’s a small world” Holiday. I especially love how this attraction is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with festive holiday tunes and thousands of shimmering lights.

Another festive way to celebrate the season is with Disney ¡Viva Navidad! in Disney California Adventure Park. Join The Three Caballeros (and even Mickey and Minnie Mouse!) for a Street Party you’ll never forget!

Wishing you a festive and joyous holiday visit to the Disneyland Resort this November!

Greetings from sunny California! I live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder (and now a Magic Key Passholder) for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids ages 5-10, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Learn More About Kristin
