Want family pics done while we're at Disney. Disney Photographers don't have any times/locations available, so looking for other photographers. Are they allowed at the resort hotels? One site said only at BWI but I've seen other resorts pictured online.

Hi Krystal! It is always a great idea to return from a Disney vacation with the family with a portrait to remember the magical times.

Disney is a private property and they do have the right to ask outside vendors to leave but this is generally if they are doing something beyond the general rules of the guests or if they are soliciting their services and advertising while on property. Many years ago we used outside photography services before Disney PhotoPass came to be. Unfortunately in the past few years unauthorized photographers have attempted to gain entry to backstage areas of the parks to take photos of things that are not open to guests.

If you wish to obtain a local photographer call and discuss locations they are comfortable with. Resort areas are the easiest for them and likely for you as well. The Disney resorts have so many beautiful options for pictures and we have used many of them in the past for our family. I would steer away from park shots as you would have to purchase a park ticket for an outside photographer and the rules begin to be tough when security sees professionals taking numerous park shots.

A good photography company will be able to assist you in location and should know the Disney rules and regulations. They can assist you in good scenes and good dress choices to make the most of your portrait time.
