Hi, my family and I (a party of 12 ages ranging from 2 to 60 from Australia) will be coming to Disney World next April and want to stay at a Disney Resort and visit all the theme parks any advice you can give would be great especially on meal plans - thank

G'Day Mate!! Thanks so much for posting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Dianne.

I couldn't possibly be more excited for your family. I have been on a number of multigenerational trips to Walt Disney World Resort and can attest to how meaningful and magical they can be. You're never too old for the magic of Disney!

If you hope to travel in April, be sure to book your hotel by September. You will want to book your dining reservations six months prior to your arrival to have the full range of restaurant options. Therefore, put your hotel reservations in place by September so you'll have your reservation number on hand to make dining reservations in October. Then, two months prior to your arrival (in February), you can go to My Disney Experience to book your FastPass+ reservations.

As for accommodations, you have many options for 12 people. If you all want to share one villa, then a grand (three bedroom) villa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Old Key West Resort, or Disney's Boardwalk Villas would be an excellent choice. Or, perhaps you'd rather have three or four adjoining standard rooms at any Disney hotel. I highly recommend the rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, or Disney's Pop Century Resort. Two family suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort would accommodate your group of 12 nicely, too.

Disney Dining Plans offer incredible flexibility. If you have hearty eaters who like to try a wide variety of snacks while on vacation, the basic Disney Dining Plan would suit your travel party well. Lighter eaters may prefer the Quick-Service Dining Plan. Disney Dining Plans are especially cost effective if your group includes children under ten.

Please post follow-up questions if there's anything more you'd like to know.

    Best wishes,
