My family & my parents are visiting Disney from Jan 15-Jan 22nd. We are staying at Coronado Springs. My parents offered to watch our children one night so hubby and I can go do something. Any recommendations, other than dinner? Maybe Piano Bar? Tha

    Hi Melissa!
January is our favorite time to visit Walt Disney World due to the low crowds and reasonable rates.

My husband and I have enjoyed traveling to WDW with extended family. Each time, a family member offered to watch our son so that we could enjoy a romantic evening. Some of our favorite outings, include:

Enjoying the Grand Floridian lobby and shops, then taking a glass of champagne out to the marina where we watch the fireworks over Cinderella's Castle. We then walk over to the Polynesian. This is my favorite walkway in all of WDW. We may stop to enjoy one of the swings on the Grand Floridian beach or a hammock at the Polynesian's waterside. This walk takes us pass the Wedding Pavilion where we renewed our vows for our tenth anniversary. At the Polynesian, walk the torchlit paths to the Grand Ceremonial House. There, enjoy the shops and/or a drink in the lounge. If you arrive prior to 8:00 p.m., enjoy Kona coffee from the Kona Island Cafe Coffee Bar.

Does a park have extra magic hours that evening? Going to a park without the kids can make for a great date night. Epcot would be my top choice. World Showcase is wonderful for an adults-only evening where you can enjoy snacks and beverages from different cultures.

The Boardwalk area is also a nice pastime. The walk around Crescent Lake lagoon can include a stop at the piano bar, Jellyrolls.

    Splurge on a fireworks cruise.

Have an early evening spa treatment, followed by drinks in a resort lounge. I highly recommend the Rix Lounge at Coronado!
