Hey Jess,
Welcome back to planDisney! I’m glad you’re here with this great question. It sounds like you will be in the driver’s seat planning your family’s next Walt Disney World vacation. This is usually the predicament I find myself in, so you’re in good company. I love planning my family's trips because I get to ensure that we do at least one thing that each person loves on each trip. Seeing the smiles on my family's faces is the best reward.
If your family members are all adults, having their own separate accounts is actually great. Assuming that the reason for linking everyone is so that you can book
Lightning Lanes,
dining reservations and
Enchanting Extras for everyone, as the leader of the pack here’s what you need to do:
- Log into your My Disney Experience app or My Disney Experience account on the Disney World Website.
- On the website, click My Disney Experience, then My Family & Friends. On the app, tap on the hamburger menu icon (☰), then tap Profile, then Family & Friends List.
- Next, you’ll tap or click Add a Guest (on the website this is at the top of the page, in the app it’s near the bottom).
- You can either search for your family members or if you’re using the app you can scan their linking code which they can access from their app profile.
Once you’re connected, everyone should be listed under your Friends & Family List and everyone’s plans can be managed by you. Their
MagicBands will remain connected to their individual profiles, along with any hotel reservations or purchases linked to their accounts, and they’ll still be able to manage their own plans. If you’d like to share the planning responsibilities, this process can be repeated so that each family member adds the others to their Friends & Family List and can manage plans for the entire group.
I hope this information is helpful. I know that you are planning the most perfect trip, but if you happen to need any additional planning help stop by and see us again. We are more than happy to help. See ya real soon!
