Hi Brian,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your advanced planning sounds wonderful! Let me offer a few thoughts about Walt Disney World Resort Hotel options.
Depending on the
Special Offers that may be available later and applicable to your 2019 trip dates, costs may be different than what they are at this time. Having said that, I have often priced two standards rooms and compared that to the price of a suite or villa. We have chosen the suites or villas because of the additional amenities that come with those. And, given the length of your stay, those amenities might be helpful - the dining options at deluxe resorts are excellent!
While we love deluxe villas, there are more affordable options that might work for your family.
Disney's Art of Animation Resort has family suites that can sleep up to six adults. These suites come with a kitchenette and two bathrooms.
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort might also be a great option. They also sleep up to six adults plus they have a full kitchen.
Since it sounds like you all need to stay together, I worry that adjoining rooms might not be the best option because those are not guaranteed. If you choose a family suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort or a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, you all could share the same room and have more space than a standard room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort.
Brian, as it gets closer to your trip dates, check the special offers and compare the prices of these options. I trust that you will find one within your budget and with a little more space for your family!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
