Our family is going on the 4 night Bahamas cruise on the Dream in January. Our kids at that time will be 3 1/2 and 20 months. When we dock at Nassau I want to do Atlantis, but wasn't sure if the Aquaventure would be appropriate for their young ages.

    Ahoy, Lauren!
Thanks for stopping by with your question. I know you must be getting excited as you make plans for your January voyage with Captain Mickey! You'll be overwhelmed by the elegance of the Disney Dream, and you'll be amazed at all there is to see and do!

I'm happy to hear you're considering visiting Atlantis - it's such a gorgeous resort, and is a favorite spot for Guests to visit when in Nassau. We spent a day at Atlantis on our January cruise a few years ago, and had a wonderful time exploring the massive property. My kids were a bit older than yours, so our time was spent on the big water slides and river rides. (We discovered that what we thought was a "lazy river" was more of a "raging rapids" type of experience - make sure to check which one you're hopping into!)

Included as part of Atlantis's Aquaventure water park is a special area just for the littlest guests - SPLASHERS. A Mayan-themed kids pool/playground with several slides and climbing areas, this is a super fun area for kids that aren't quite big enough for the large water slides. Water cannons, fountains, water wheels and a maximum depth of three feet make this an awesome kid-friendly spot!

Of course, you can always choose to stay on board and enjoy smaller crowds on the pool deck and explore the ship that day. We've had a blast doing that as well!

Hope this helps! Have a magical day! - Diane W.
