    My family and I need to leave the Animal Kingdom and travel to Downtown Disney for a dinner reservation at 9:15. What is the best mode of transportation to accomplish this? Thanks so much!

    Hello Sheila,

    Disney Transportation is a convenient way to get around the parks and resorts, but it can be a bit confusing at times. One tool that I find extremely helpful is the "transportation wizard" at www.ourlaughingplace.com. Even though I am a fairly seasoned traveler to Walt Disney World, I can get a bit turned around and need a quick way to look up the best route to and from different locations around Walt Disney World Resort. When you visit the site, the link is in the upper right hand corner. Then, you simply plug in your starting and ending locations and click "find route". Simple as that. Keep in mind that these times are estimations and cannot be guaranteed. They also may not include the time spent waiting for the transportation. All transportation tends to arrive every 20 minutes or so, but that is not always guaranteed.

    I was able to look up your request, and there are several ways listed. You could either take a bus to Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, then transfer to a boat bound for Downtown Disney or you can walk a short distance to Downtown Disney along the walking path. These methods could take between 43-50 minutes. You could also take a bus to Disney's Pop Century Resort and then transfer to a bus headed to Downtown Disney. This could take about 45 minutes. Again, keep in mind that these are estimates. I always tend to allow about an hour when trying to make a dinner reservation and having to make a transfer within transportation.
