family of 6, need help with planning accomodations or staterooms. which concierge accomodate 6? thinking caribbean cruise.how do I ensure if I book a staterooms the will a join?

Ahoy, Ryan! Welcome to planDisney and the first step towards booking your family’s perfect sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line.

Disney Cruise Line offers four different main stateroom types: Inside, Oceanview, Verandah, and Concierge. Most of the staterooms in the Disney fleet are designed to sleep a maximum of five guests; however, there are an extremely limited number of suites found within the Concierge category that would be able to accommodate your family of six together in one stateroom.

The exact type and number of suites vary by ship, but the ones designed to accommodate up to six guests are only found on the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny, which all currently offer Caribbean or Bahamian itineraries. All three of those ships are also the same class of ship and feature the same deck plans, which include Concierge 1-and 2-Story Royal Suites with Verandah that feature split-level layouts with space for six guests spread out over two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room area. Each ship only offers four of these types of staterooms, so they are booked very quickly and do come at a premium. If you are interested in these types of accommodations, then I would recommend calling Disney Cruise Line directly at (800) 951-3532 to determine which sailings have actual availability.

However, keep in mind that there are plenty of other connecting staterooms that would allow your party of six to sail together in the Inside, Oceanview, or Verandah categories as well. The easiest way to find connecting rooms is to use the Disney Cruise Line “Plan a Cruise” feature and narrow down your options based on your personal preferences.

To see current stateroom availability for upcoming sailings, then follow these steps:

    1. Start by clicking on the “Plan a Cruise” tab at the top of the main website.
    2. Then click on the white box at the left labeled “Leaving” and choose your preferred months.
    3. You can narrow down your search further by choosing your desired destination under “Sailing to” or your planned departure port under “Departing from.”
    4. Once you have your preferred filters in place, click on the blue “View Dates” button to see the available itineraries.
    5. After you click on your desired itinerary, you will be able to pick a particular sailing date and can then click the blue “Continue” button.
    6. From there, you will be able to select the number of staterooms needed and the number of guests per stateroom.
    7. Be sure to click on the button at the far right that says “Connecting Rooms” to narrow your search results and then click the blue button labeled “Confirm Travel Party.”
    8. That will take you to a new page that says “Select Stateroom Type” and you can see the available options.
    9. You will then be able to choose the exact type of stateroom you want, followed by the deck, and exact room numbers.

By following these steps, you should be able to find connecting staterooms that can accommodate your entire family on an upcoming sailing.

As you continue planning your family’s first sailing to where magic meets the sea, I’m sure you will have lots of other questions. Remember that you are always welcome back here at planDisney and we are happy to help point you in the right direction. Happy sailing!
