Hiya Courtney,
Welcome back to planDisney! I love that you have come back to visit us for help with your magical vacation coming up in April. I’m sure you are getting excited about it, and my fellow panelists and I are honored to be a tiny part of your magical adventure.
First off, thank you for another great question about dining. With so many incredible dining options at Walt Disney World Resort, the
dining plans are perfect for those trying to plan out their dining experiences. But let’s get back to your question. As a 10-year-old, your son is considered an adult for the purposes of the dining plan (and theme park tickets). Which means yes, he can order adult entrees at table-service dining locations if he wishes. In my experience, he can also order items off the kids' menu if he wants, but he will have to redeem an adult credit for the meal.
I hope this was helpful, Courtney. Before I let you go, I’m sure my pals have given you a lot of wonderful tips about the dining plan and dining in general, but I did want to share one of my tips for the dining plan. Whenever I order
Quick Service meals, I love using
mobile ordering! I typically start my day by planning my Quick Service meals and ordering in advance in the
My Disney Experience mobile app to save time later. Did you know that you can mobile order using the dining plan? Let’s say you want to enjoy one of my new favorites, the BBQ Brisket Melt at
Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios. To redeem a Quick Service credit, add the BBQ Brisket Melt and a drink to your cart. Once you do that, it will appear in the app as a quick-service meal (note that when you select the drink, it will initially say it “qualifies as a snack,” but once you add an entrée, the system will process it as a meal). Before you check out, you will be able to verify that it is reflected correctly as a meal, and then voila, off to checkout! I truly hope your vacation is incredible, and please come back and visit us if you need anything else. We would be happy to help!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
