Hey Howdy Hey James and welcome to planDisney!
James, I get you 100%! The last time we planned our trip and had to pick out our MagicBands, actually picking out the "right" one for each of us was really tough because of all the great available options! Now with
MagicBand+, this decision may be a little more difficult! Sounds like your wife is helping you out so you can get a couple of your top choices. Let's talk about assigning your MagicBands to the right party members.
When you initially purchase your MagicBands, you will select the members of your party that they are assigned to. Often times you will not have the ability to assign the MagicBands to more than one member of your party or have 2 bands assigned to one party member. After your receive your MagicBands, you have a couple of options. As long as they are linked to your account and see them linked to the members of your party they were initially assigned, you can either
call Disney and have the Cast Member make the change or you can wait until you are onsite in Walt Disney World and either the Cast Member at your hotel's concierge desk or the cashier in the parks will be able to take care of this process for you to get the right bands assigned to the right party members. You might not have the ability to use the two you would like interchangeably, but you will be able to have both in your possession.
There are so many ways to use the new MagicBand+ during your upcoming vacation from things like a special entrance greeting sequence to interactive experiences in the parks. Check out the recent article on
Disney Parks Blog for some tips on all the new ways to interact with your surroundings while you are in the parks to take full advantage of your new bands! Oh, one tip before you leave for your trip, make sure you charge your bands and take the charging cords with you!
Best of luck as you round the corner for the home stretch of planning your upcoming trip. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
