Family of 4. Mom, Dad, DD 12, DD 10. WDW veterans. Planning trip to DL in 2014. When is it less crowded - July or October?

    Hi there Mary,

I think I'd to have to go with October over July.  Although I have visited during the prime summer months with no problem, July is right in the prime of summer and the parks will be filled with vacationing families and locals who are out of school. The temperatures will also be at their warmest during July.

October, is much cooler, and the crowd levels will be much lower because schools are back in session. During October, you can also take advantage the fabulous special event, Mickey's Halloween Party, during which Disneyland Park  is closed to regular guests and transformed into a spooky wonderland of tricks and treats, special entertainment, and more!  You can also experience the special Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on the Haunted Mansion which is a must see for sure!

Please be aware that the closer to Halloween you get, the heavier the crowds will be, so I recommend visiting early to mid month!

    Best Wishes,
