My family has 6 military salute tickets. Our qualifying military service member is no longer available to come on our trip. How best do we exchange tickets? At the ticket booth (in person) but advance reservation is required to enter parks… how to plan???

Hi TeAnn! Welcome back to planDisney. It's great to see you here again.

As a military spouse, I am so grateful for the military discounts available to my family on our Disney visits. I'm sorry to hear your family's military member isn't able to join you this time - please extend my thank you for their service to our country. It's my pleasure to help you decide what to do with your Disneyland Resort Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets.

I enlisted the help of my fellow military spouse and planDisney panelist Kristen N., who has lots of experience using military tickets at Disneyland. She said you should be able to explain your situation at a ticket window when you arrive and they will assist you in upgrading the tickets to non-military tickets. You will be responsible for paying the difference between the value of the military tickets and your new tickets at that time. Once you have exchanged the tickets you will be able to make theme park reservations, pending availability

If you prefer to make reservations in advance, you have one more option. You could save the military tickets and use them on a different visit, and then purchase new tickets for your visit. That way, you can purchase the tickets and make reservations in advance. I know that option doesn't work for everyone but wanted to offer that as an option.

One more thought, TeAnn. I'm not sure when you're planning to visit, but you could also call Ticket Services to see if a Cast Member could help you over the phone, or you could use the Email Us form. Many Guests have been emailing Guest Relations with their ticket questions lately; be sure to include the ticket ID numbers and each Guest's full name if you choose this option.

Thank you for stopping by with your question! Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you plan and dream.

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
