Hi Irene,
It's always nice to see you planning Disney at planDisney! You've asked an important question about accessing the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Each person requires valid admission and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) to enter a theme park each day. Theme park reservations are not required for date-based tickets beginning January 9, 2024, so that's one less thing for you to worry about.
I understand you've used the
My Disney Experience mobile app to download Disney MagicMobile passes for your family. Well done! At theme park entry and Lightning Lane entrances, your first option is to scan everyone's Disney MagicMobile pass from your phone. Express Mode is automagically enabled, which means you'll be able to scan your first pass without using Face ID or your passcode. You'll then have to physically scroll through items in your Apple Wallet to scan the remaining passes. Your second option is to
share an individual's Disney MagicMobile pass with them so they can scan in using their device. Kindly note that Disney MagicMobile passes can currently be shared between eligible iPhones only and are shared from within the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's homepage > Disney MagicMobile > Select Passes to Share). You can even use options 1 and 2. It sounds like you're the planning guru in your family and they might appreciate you taking the lead on scanning in at theme park entry, but if your party plans to split up to experience any Lightning Lane attractions, everyone will need access to their own MagicMobile passes.
I think there are some other information tidbits you may find helpful, Irene. Methods of entry can be used interchangeably throughout your trip. On my most recent trip I used a MagicBand+ on Monday, a Disney MagicMobile pass on Tuesday, and a MagicBand 2 design on Wednesday. If admission cards are your preference, please stop by a theme park ticket window before approaching a tapstile. Oh, and only one person's Disney MagicMobile pass needs to be scanned by Disney PhotoPass photographers.
I hope this information helps your family access the magic of the theme parks next year, Irene. Thanks for all the work you're doing to set your family up for success - you are the magic!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
