Hiya Corinne,
Welcome to
planDisney! First, let me say, thank you so much for your service. I am the child of two veterans, so I know firsthand the sacrifice that is. I am truly thankful to you and your family members.
Since my parents have been kind enough to purchase the
Disney Celebrates America Military Salute Ticket for my three-year-old, I have spent a lot of time talking to representatives at Shades of Green about military tickets in general. What I learned was that as the Eligible Military Service Member, you will need to be present on the first day of use to activate the theme park tickets for your family members. You must also scan into the theme park with them on that first day. After the theme park tickets are activated, your family members should be able to use them without you being present.
I hope this was helpful, Corrine. Before I let you go, normally I would recommend activating your theme park tickets the day before at
Disney Springs, but since you will need to scan in, you will likely just want to do it all at once at the theme parks. This will affect the start of your day, so make sure to factor in the extra time. I always find that the lines at the ticket counters are longest at the start of the day, when the theme parks first open, so either arrive early or wait a bit for the crowds to thin. Please let us know if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
