Hi! We have 11 family members linked to one genie plus account. Can I book one ride for 5 family members and a different ride for the other 6 family members separately? Will the 2 hour timer start differently for those family members going on another ride?

    Hi, Jalyn!

It's so nice to see you here at planDisney –– I'm glad you stopped by with your question today. Since you're making plans for a travel party of 11, it sounds like you're in for some big fun during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  Like you, my extended family often travels as one big group, so there's nothing I love more than a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth where the group gets to come along.  Sure, it might take a little extra strategizing to get all your planning details just right, but take it from me –– all the laughs, joy, and memories you'll share will definitely make it time well spent!

When it comes to making your Genie+ Lightning Lane and Individual Lightning Lane selections, I've got some great news –– you can absolutely break up your traveling party into smaller groups to enjoy different rides. Each time you go to make a selection, you'll be able to choose which eligible members of your Friends & Family list you'd like to group together for that attraction.  After you've booked that one, you can go right in and make a different selection for the other members of your group.  Just keep in mind that each person's two-hour window for selecting their next ride will depend on the Lightning Lane return for the ride they chose.  This means that if your family has multiple groups with Lightning Lane access for different times, each of those groups will also need to make their next selection at different times.

Since I know, firsthand, that this can get really confusing (especially when you're trying to manage a big group), I suggest looking for Lightning Lane return times that are in the same general timeframe when you're booking multiple attractions.  That way, you'll be making all your next selections at roughly the same time and won't feel like you're looking at the clock all day long.  Also, when you make your first Lightning Lane selections, I recommend setting an alarm on your phone to let you know when those two hours are up –– that way you can set it, forget it, and focus on enjoying your family time together at Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope this helped answer your question, Jalyn, and I really appreciate you visiting planDisney.  If you need more information or think of new planning questions as your visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to drop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
