Hiya, Holly, and welcome to
planDisney! I’m so glad you’re here!
It looks like your
Disneyland Resort vacation will be here in just one week… time to get excited! I can’t wait for you and your husband to explore the Happiest Place on Earth with your six grandchildren! Personally, I love visiting the Disneyland Resort with my parents and my three children, since there’s something for everyone in our family to enjoy, from age 5 to 75!
Like you, my mom also uses
Disability Access Service (DAS) at times, and we have accompanied her as Guests as well. Generally, the Guest using DAS can include up to five additional Guests in their party (for a total of six). Since it sounds like you’ll have a party of eight Guests, I recommend discussing this with a Cast Member during your live video chat when registering for
DAS Advance. Depending on your circumstances, perhaps they may be able to offer suggestions or help accommodate your needs.
Speaking of DAS Advance, have you heard about this convenient new update to the DAS program? The new DAS Advance allows qualified Guests
to register in advance via live video chat between 2 and 30 days prior to their park visit. So, you’re in your open window right now! During the chat, the Guest using DAS needs to be present in order to have a photo taken of them. At the end of the chat, if the Guest is eligible for the service, they will be able to select up to two DAS Advance selections
for select attractions, subject to availability. This is in addition to the regular DAS benefit of making return-time selections throughout your Disney day.
To help prepare for your chat, here’s what you’ll need to do: First, you’ll want to make sure you have
a Disney account, since you’ll need to be logged into it before your chat. Also, you’ll want to purchase your theme-park tickets for each member of your party, and link them to your Disney account. Lastly, double check that every member of your party has a valid theme-park reservation, too. Then, you’ll be all set for the chat!
If for any reason you’re not able to schedule your registration chat before your visit, you can also stop by City Hall (in
Disneyland Park), Chamber of Commerce (in
Disney California Adventure Park), or any Guest Information location to register and inquire about your issue with the size of your party. Cast Members are always on hand to help as needed! Prior to your trip, you can also call Disability Services at (407) 560-2547, or send an email to disability.services@disneyland.com.
I hope this information helps you plan your magical visit, Holly! Please stop by with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!
