Hey, Christie! With a family of six, I know the challenges of fitting and affording WDW fun for the whole family! The general rule of thumb on saving on a vacation package is to:
- Register to receive updates and offers from Disney so that you are of the first to know about specials and discounts.
- Subscribe to third-party providers such as travel agencies (especially those who specialize in Disney vacations); AAA; and online Disney fan sites which provide up-to-date information about WDW travel.
- Plan your trip during value season -- mousesavers.com has a great chart on 2010 dates & rates.
- For large families (who are not Disney Vacation Club Members), the most cost-efficient accommodations are the Value Suites -- which can host up to six people and includes two bathrooms and a mini-kitchen.
Presently, there are a limited amount of free dining offers available for Fall 2010, and for a cost per person, you can upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan. You can get the most current information and advice by calling the WDW Travel Planners at 407-WDISNEY.
I did plug in the information I had available for your family on the WDW site, and for accommodations, tickets and dining, your family's package price would be around $5,000+ -- for four people (10+) and one child for six nights with six park hopper tickets (including the Water Park & Fun Option).
Please let me know if you have additional questions. I'd be happy to help! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
