Hi there April, and welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with your question. I'd be happy to assist you today.
All four Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs offer
wheelchair and
ECV rentals just inside their entrance gates, and these mobility devices are not permitted outside their rental locations. I completely understand the concern for your family member; some of the bus stops are quite a trek from the in-park rental locations.
When traveling with a friend who uses an ECV, he prefers to secure a mobility device from an offsite rental company so he can take advantage of the assistance it affords him outside of the theme parks. He recommends Scooterbug, the Disney Featured Provider of strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs. When my little Mouseketeers needed strollers on vacation, my family reserved our preferred item through Scooterbug's website and conveniently found it waiting for us at
Bell Services upon check-in at our
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.
I hope this is helpful, April. While
Walt Disney World Transportation is a wonderful convenience for many Guests, another option for your group might be using
Minnie Van™ Service Connected by Lyft. Minnie Vans can usually drop off and pick up Guests much closer to the theme park entrances than the buses, and they do it in style!
Thanks again for bringing your question to
planDisney, and if there's anything else we can do to make your upcoming trip even more memorable, come back and see us again. We're all ears!
