Welcome to planDisney, Dominique! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. Getting Disney tickets from a family member is definitely a magical surprise, but when it comes to
Florida Resident tickets, there are a few important rules to keep in mind, and I'm happy to walk you through them.
Florida Resident tickets can only be used by Florida residents, and every person using one of those tickets must show
proof of Florida residency before entering the parks. So, if your family member buys the tickets as a gift, and even if they're with you at the gate, you and your family won't be able to use them unless each adult has a valid Florida ID or other accepted proof of residence, like a utility bill or lease agreement with a matching photo ID.
If you don't have Florida residency, no worries! There are still plenty of ways your family member can gift you some Disney magic. They could purchase
standard theme park tickets, which don't require any residency verification and can be used by anyone. You can also check out the ticket deals that are available for the time you're planning to visit! Disney offers special promotions throughout the year, so it's worth keeping an eye on the
Special Offers page for great deals.
I hope this helps clear things up, Dominique, and let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical trip!
