    Hi there! I have a family member who is linked to my Disney experience but will not be staying on a Disney Property. Will they be able to book with genie + at the same time as we will since we are staying on a Disney property?

    Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited to hEAR that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this fall. You have picked the perfect time of year to visit. The 50th Anniversary Celebration is still in full swing, you can enjoy the fall decorations in the Magic Kingdom, and you can also partake in EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival. Just thinking of all the food offerings available during those 3 celebrations makes it a great time to enjoy the resort. 

    Disney Genie+ is a new tool that allows Guests to save time and bypass the standby lines for over 40 attractions in Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Any Guest with a valid theme park ticket and park pass reservation can add the Genie+ service to their ticket as early as midnight of the day you plan to use it. All Guests can begin making Genie+ Lightning Lane selections at 7:00 AM sharp! It does not matter if you are a Guest of a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel or have off-site accommodations, Genie+ is available at 7:00 AM to all members on your My Family and Friends list. 

    Guests planning to make Individual Lightning Lane selections do not need to purchase Genie+ prior to making the a la carte reservation for the most popular rides and attractions. If you are planning to make these selections, unfortunately, only Guests of Disney Resorts Collection Hotels and other select hotels which include Guests of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and Guests of the Shades of Green Resort can make their selections at 7:00 AM, all other Guests will be able to make their selections when the park opens. When you attempt to make an Individual Lightning Lane selection, the My Disney Experience mobile app will only allow you to choose Guests who are associated with a confirmed resort reservation. Even if someone is connected to your My Family & Friends List, if they are not listed on a confirmed reservation, they will not be eligible to reserve an Individual Lightning Lane experience until the park opens, providing there is remaining eligibility.
