Greetings Neil,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am so happy your relative took advantage of the Disneyland Resort's
discount offer for members of the U.S. Military!
These tickets must be purchased at a local military base and may be used through December 19, 2018, which means you're just in time to start planning a
magical vacation!
The answer to your question about whether the eligible military family member who purchased your tickets must be present when you travel to the Happiest Place on Earth is...yes.
Valid military identification is required both for purchase and use of these special tickets.
Fortunately, the offer is extended to military spouses too. Participating military sales outlets must require that Eligible Service Members (or their spouses) present valid military identification to purchase Disney Military Promotional Tickets. The same would apply when activating the tickets once you arrive at the Parks. If your family member will be away for training, perhaps their spouse can go along to Disneyland when you go!
I hope this helps.
Have a Very Merry Unbirthday and chEARs to an amazing New Year!
