    My family and I are making our first trip in September 2011. I am a planner and want to begin working on our itenerary to maximize our visit. What is the BEST all around guidebook? A book that has every "must know" about WDW. Thanks!

    The best book, in terms of one book with almost everything there is to know about Walt Disney World in it, is without a doubt  "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World", co-authored by Len Testa.  It has every little detail, important tips, and has a solid research team behind it; it is also huge, but you can get an electronic version!  There's also a website that goes with the book:  TouringPlans.com.  Whether or not you get the book, I recommend visiting TouringPlans.com.  They're famous in the Disney fan community for their touring plans, which are basically recommendations on which order to experience an attraction to minimize your wait in lines.  Their recommendations are  based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  As an engineer, I'm a huge fan of their work!

    I'm also a fan of the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  Their book is perfect for a first timer, because it has a lot of information without being overwhelming.  It's also a beautiful book with lots of full color photographs.  I think the photographs help to give you a quick feel of what there is to do at Walt Disney World.

    September is right around the corner.  You will want to make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) for Table Service (full service) restaurants right away!  Walt Disney World Resort has a lot of great places to dine and the Table Service restaurants will fill up quickly; reservations are allowed to be made up to 6 months in advance!  Reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
