Hi Randy! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
I hope you and your family have been enjoying your year of increased access to the magic,
discounts, and special perks. I became a
Magic Key holder for the first time this year, and I especially love the dining discounts since we like to dine in the parks.
Carthay Circle Restaurant on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park is our new favorite for a really special celebratory meal.
You are correct that sales of Magic Keys are currently paused. As a result, no one, including a current Magic Key holder like yourself, can purchase another person's child a Magic Key. I'm sorry if that's disappointing!
I wish I knew when Magic Keys would become available again, but without Madame Leota's crystal ball, I'm as uninformed about that outcome as anyone else. If your friend wants to be one of the first to know, I'd suggest a few things. First, update that Disneyland profile to receive all communications. Second, follow the
Disney Parks Blog, which is the official resource for all things related to the parks. Finally, following
Disneyland Magic Key is a good idea too. Either one of those blogs might be where the sale of Magic Keys is announced early on in the sale. Plus, once you are a Magic Key holder, the official blog has such great information about exclusives!
Fingers crossed and a little Pixie Dust and maybe we'll see those sales open up soon. In the meantime, there is a new offer that might interest you: the
Kids' Special Ticket Offer. Since I'm a Magic Key holder, we're taking advantage of this fantastic deal when we visit with extended family who are not. Kids ages 3 to 9 can visit for as low as $50 per child subject to
theme park reservation availability. Be sure to check out the
terms before purchasing.
I hope this helps! Have a magical day.
Elizabeth
