    Our family will be going on the Magic in February of 2016 for our first family cruise! It is a Christmas gift and I was wondering if you use the Magicbands on the cruise? I wanted to order the cute ones as a way to tell them but only if we can use them 🙂

    Congratulations on your upcoming February cruise on the beautiful Disney Magic! What an awesome Christmas gift for your family. We've surprised our kids with the gift of a Disney Cruise before, and it is certainly a special memory for all of us!

    At this time there have been no announcements for Magic Band technology to move to Disney Cruise Line. While Magic Bands are awesome additions to the Walt Disney Resort experience, they will not connect in any way to your cruise. When you board the ship, you'll be issued a Key to the World card that serves basically the same purposes as a Magic Band. (opens your stateroom door, and can be used for onboard purchases.)
