Welcome to planDisney, Frank!
There's nothing quite like your first visit to the Disneyland Resort. Combining your daughter's first visit with your birthday sounds like a magical plan.
The first thing I'd encourage you to do is stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park and pick up your complimentary buttons. There's a button for first-time Guests and a button for Guests celebrating their birthday. This is a really fun way to let Cast Members and fellow Guests know that you're celebrating a special occasion.
Whenever I'm celebrating during a Disney vacation, I always make a point to have a special meal. There are many wonderful restaurants to eat at in the Disneyland Resort. I'd suggest making a dining reservation at one of the following:
Blue Bayou Restaurant (Disneyland Park)
Carthay Circle Restaurant (Disney California Adventure Park)
Lamplight Lounge (Disney California Adventure Park)
Napa Rose (Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa)
Some restaurants even allow you to
pre-order Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes. If you'd rather do a character dining experience, there are
lots of options to choose from. My family really enjoyed
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. I always let my server know that we're celebrating a special occasion too!
If you're staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel then you can
order a custom celebratory surprise and have it waiting in your room.
I hope that gives you some ideas, Frank. Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Have a fantastic time!
Mike
