Hiya Stephanie! Thank you so much for coming to visit me, here at planDisney! Like you, I love thinking about how my family’s adventures at Disneyland Resort have evolved through every age, stage, and page of our journey together. In fact, that’s exactly how Walt Disney viewed his original theme park when he said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” So, I’m delighted to share some of the exciting announcements and developments that may ignite the spark for your next visit with your teenagers!
If you are feeling one with the Force, you absolutely must venture to
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for an experience immerses you deep into Star Wars lore from the moment you set foot on planet Batuu. You and your teens can partner with Hondo Ohnaka to pick up some coaxium in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or battle against Kylo Ren and the First Order in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Even if you are seasoned travelers on planet, there are a few new interactions that are worth mentioning. The Mandalorian can been seen wandering around Black Spire Outpost with Grogu by his side, and if you’re lucky, you may also catch sight of the elusive mercenary Fennec Shand. These new additions to the character interactions continue to add even more depth to the Star Wars stories we have come to know and love. You can use the map feature on the Disneyland mobile app and toggle to “Characters” on the menu bar to filter by the featured land of
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Another interactive feature is the use of MagicBand+ to pick up some virtual bounties hidden around Black Spire Outpost in the all-new
Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters quest! The lights and haptics really make this a fun adventure to explore Batuu in a completely new way.
Over in the multiverse,
Avengers Campus is teeming with new heroes, villains, and legends. More than 35 characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have appeared in Avengers Campus with even more planned in the future. I love seeing who might show up next around the Headquarters, from feuding brothers Loki and Thor to Spiderman swinging high above the Worldwide Engineering Brigade building. In fact, it might be a fun idea to make a “challenge” of your own to see how many Avengers (or villains) you can find as a family – or make it a friendly competition, with the winner getting a Celestial-sized Candy Bar: Choco-Smash CANDY Bar at Pym Test Kitchen!
My last recommendation for you, Stephanie, is to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the news updates on Disneyland Resort. Last
September’s post was full of exciting announcements from the D23 Expo with some of them already underway! Plus, 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company with Disneyland Resort hosting the
Disney100 Celebration! You’ll find dazzling touches across the resort, including two new nighttime spectaculars that take us through the inspiring and unparalleled legacy of Disney storytelling. I hope you and your family love them as much as mine does.
If I can offer any other recommendations as you plan your next visit to Disneyland Resort,
you know where to find me!
Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
Tishra
