Hi Moms! Our family LOVES Big Tunder Mountain Railroad at MK. So, we were gonna go to WDW in April, but they're refurbishing it then, so now we have to go the 1st/2nd week of May. How is the weather and crowds? We can use all the info. possible. Thanks!

Hi Dana!  My family has a soft spot for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, too!  I'm glad you were able to rearrange your trip to accommodate your roller coaster love.  As for crowds during that time frame, I suspect you'll be happy to hear that they are definitely bearable.  Far more so than April--typically--when spring break crowds descend upon Orlando.  Unfortunately, I can't offer as good of news when it comes to the weather.  You should definitely be prepared to face high temperatures during the month of May.  Highs during that time of year average in the upper 80's while lows stay close to the upper 60's.  I'm sure that the ability to "climb" your favorite mountain will make the heat bearable.  Enjoy your trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
