My family would love to stay at the Wilderness lodge but we cannot afford to stay there the entire week. Is it possible to stay like 3 nights at Port Orleans i.e. & then switch to another disney resort for the remainder of the stay to lower cost

    Hi Jacob,

It absolutely is possible!  Resort hopping is a great way to experience deluxe resorts while keeping the cost of your vacation to a minimum.  I do recommend, however, staying at the lower priced resort first and then upgrading.  Port Orleans is a lovely resort, but I think you'll enjoy it more if that is your first destination.

On check out day, simply take your luggage to bell services.  Tell them that you're heading to Wilderness Lodge, and they'll deliver the bags later in the day.  You're free to play in the parks and check in at your new resort later.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
