My family are looking at planning a trip at the end of August 2012. I was wondering just how bad the end of August is in Florida as far as the humidity is concerned and if there's anything that Disney does to help ease it a bit (other than AC in the hotel)

    Hi Karolyn!

The heat and humidity is still ever-present in late August, but we are rarely bothered by it.  Staying well hydrated and taking breaks indoors are the best ways to keep cool and stay refreshed.

The indoor attractions are air-conditioned, so it's always a nice break from the heat.  Disney also does a great job of placing fans and water-spray misters in ride queues that are outdoors to help keep people cool.

Wearing lightweight, light-colored comfortable clothes also helps.  Also, make sure that you try to plan a nice, relaxing Table Service meal once a day.  It is nice to be able to cool off and re-charge while enjoying great food!

We also head back to our hotel in the heat of the day for rest (we have 3 little ones), and even if they don't rest, we relax for a while, hit the pool and re-charge.  It does WONDERS for everyone!

    Have a magical vacation!
