Our family is looking into DVC. What are the benefits of the club? We stay standard rooms what would be the benefits of getting a DVC membership?

    Hi Kerri,

My family and I have been members of Disney Vacation Club for years now, and we love it.  One of my favorite aspects of Disney Vacation Club is the flexibility.  Reservations require different amounts of Vacation Pints depending on on a variety of factors, including the time of year and the type of accommodation.  There may be a time when you want to visit Walt Disney World and bring some friends or extended family, and that year you might decide you want to book a two-bedroom villa.  Disney Vacation Club members can bank Vacation Points from one year, use Vacation Points from a current year, and borrow Vacation Points from the next year.  This way, you can use three years' Vacation Points at one time if you want to!

We love the Disney Vacation Club resorts.  They are beautifully themed, and have Community Halls that offer places to relax and unwind.  Although you generally stay in standard rooms, you may find that you really enjoy the Deluxe Studios at the Disney Vacation Club resorts, which are spacious and offer kitchenettes.  Finally, though they are subject to change, Disney Vacation Club members can take advantage of Member Perks.  From great discounts on certain annual passes to shopping and dining discounts, these are fabulous.

I encourage you to take the Open House Tour of Disney Vacation Club the next time you visit Walt Disney World.  On this tour you will see Disney Vacation Club accommodations, and meet a guide who can explain why Disney Vacation Club may be right for your family. This is very low-pressure.  To learn more about Disney Vacation Club, you can visit the website to order a free DVD, or you can call at 1-800-500-3990 to speak with a cast member.  If you do decide to become a Disney Vacation Club member, it will be so wonderful the first time you hear those magical words, "Welcome Home."
