Hi there, Jessica! It’s my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney!
Planning your first Disney cruise is very exciting! I’m sure by now, you know about all the amazing
included offerings, such as the fun deck parties, Broadway-style shows, fireworks at sea, Youth Activities, and Character Experiences at every turn. Plus a birthday cruise?! It’s going to be a magical birthday indeed!
I also remember how booking that first Disney cruise can feel a bit overwhelming, starting with choosing a stateroom. But that’s where planDisney comes in, and I’m happy to help!
You’ll be happy to know that there are balcony staterooms that accommodate families of five on every Disney cruise ship! The category is a Verandah stateroom, and the name of it is a “Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah”. Here are the steps to take if you’d like to book this stateroom:
- On the Disney Cruise Line website, find the Disney cruise you would like to sail on by navigating to “Find a Cruise” under the “Plan a Cruise” tab. Once you’ve found the itinerary and sail date you would like, click “Continue”. Then, by clicking “View Staterooms” you will be taken to the stateroom selection portion.
- Once you have confirmed your travel party, you will be navigated to the window that allows you to choose a stateroom. Here, you will see the options that are available for your family’s size, including the balcony stateroom you’re seeking.
True to Disney Cruise Line form, the staterooms onboard feel spacious, are designed with families in mind, and can accommodate guests comfortably! For my family, some of the stateroom features that make vacationing together more comfortable are the split-bathroom design (so we never argue over mirror space), luggage storage underneath the bed (so we’re able to maneuver around easily), and the privacy curtain in the middle of the room. It really is a very well-thought-out design, and one of the reasons my family consistently sails with Disney Cruise Line.
This specific stateroom category even has an ingeniously designed pull-down bed off the wall near the verandah, accommodating the fifth guest comfortably, without sacrificing precious space! The way in which the other four guests sleep is one on each of the two bunk beds, and two on the main bed.
I’ve sailed in this stateroom category many times. My absolute favorite thing about it has to be those morning coffee verandah views. I love ordering a pot of coffee from Room Service in the morning and enjoying it on my verandah, with nothing but the sound of the ocean waves around me, as my family sleeps peacefully inside. The best part is that because of that lovely verandah, I can’t disturb my family, and they can’t disturb me.
I have one more tip before I let you sail away. Once you book your Disney cruise (yay!), be sure to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. As you begin preparing for your cruise, it’s going to be the ultimate planning desk right at your fingertips!
Jessica, I hope this birthday cruise is filled with many wonderful family memories. Please come back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
See ya real soon,
Rana
