I have family that lives in Cali, they want to buy us tickets as a gift, but website says they check ID’s, will we not be able to use the gifted tickets because we don’t live in Cali if family buys them?

    Hello, Dakota!

Thanks so much for stopping by with your question! I love that you're doing your research to ensure that your Disneyland Resort entrance is a breeze. Well done!

Your research is correct: If tickets are purchased under a dedicated California or Southern California discount, all adults in the party must show proof of residency and ID upon entry. This rule would apply to the currently available Special Southern California Resident Tickets, for example. So while your family in California may be able to purchase these discounted tickets for their personal use (they're valid for residents within ZIP codes 90000-93599), adult friends and family who currently live out of state won't be able to enjoy the same discount.

I hope this helps you find the best ticket options for you and your family, Dakota! If you have more questions before this trip, let us know. We can help you choose restaurants, attractions, and even your Disneyland Resort hotel

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
